VSL: Warriors 72-69.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Miami Heat 72-69 (boxscore) as [ex-Heat guard] Brian Chase hit a long range three with 13.4 seconds to play to give his team a 70-67 advantage in a hard fought battle. The game, the final matchup on the fifth day of competition at the 2010 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, featured 11 lead changes and eight ties, with neither team holding a commanding lead at any point.
Reggie Williams led all scorers with 23 points, 10 of which came in the decisive fourth quarter. Chase finished the game with 10 points, five of which came in the final stanza, while teammate Jason Rich also tallied 10 in the win.

The teams came out flat in the first quarter, with the Warriors besting the Heat by two, 14-12, after swamping the lead seven times and knotting in three ties early in the game. Through one, Golden State's Reggie Williams led all scorers with six points.
Miami turned up the heat in the second quarter, going on an 11-3 run to begin the quarter and take a 23-17 lead with five minutes to play in the half.
The ties turned in the third quarter, with the Warriors charging back and outscoring Miami 20-14, to head into the fourth quarter down by only three, 47-50. Williams added seven points in the third, to bring his total to 14, while Jason Rich scored six during Golden State's run.

Miami was led by Kenny Hasbrouck's 14 points, including a running layup with 1.5 seconds to play that wasn't enough to close the gap before time expired. Garret Siler finished with 10 points in the loss.
The Warriors finish their Summer League schedule on Thursday, July 15 when the team takes on the Phoenix Suns, while the Heat return to action tomorrow to take on the Detroit Pistons.
